Kayaking was a lot of fun! Very friendly tour guide and all levels of kayakers welcome and comfortable. Really neat to experience Chicago in a different way! Wateriders was super flexible with our scheduling and easy to communicate with.

Outstanding and very accommodating staff. Our guide reciting the Chicago poem and then singing for us was great. Knowledge of landmarks was fantastic. This is an excellent way to see the City from a different view. Wateriders you are wonderful!

Joel was an amazing guide, full of great stories and good humor. We enjoyed hearing about Chicago’s shady characters and ghosts. A sudden thunder storm came in, one that wasn’t detected on radar, so we had to hide under one of the bridges to wait it out, and Joel handled the unexpected change in our tour with professionalism and grace. We had a blast, and Wateriders, we will most definitely return on our next trip to your incredible town. Thank you!

My boyfriend and his two boys (13,15) and I went for the Sunday evening kayaking trip. We all so enjoyed ourselves. We had a groupon and originally scheduled our date, but due to weather, it had to be cancelled. The staff was so accommodating that they rescheduled our trip for us. The guides were fun and informative and it was a really great evening.

This group does a terrific job with the Shady Ghosts and Gangsters tour! Our guide was terrific, and the boats are in great shape. As much as we enjoyed the views from out on the river, the stories they tell were even better. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting.

I enjoyed very much learning the new skill of Kayaking. I did not get it right away, but the instructor stuck by us and made sure I got it, and helped me enjoy my experience at my own pace. I really appreciated that, and overall it was something I d love to do again. Thank you Wateriders for making this a fun adventure.

An evening kayak tour to watch the fireworks was my husband’s idea. We had a wonderful time! Our particular tour was 5 miles round trip and a bit of a challenge for our younger daughter but we all had a great time. The staff were wonderful and attentive, making sure that no one had any problems and constantly aware of our safety. Our tour was after dark and it was beautiful to see the lights of the city! It was a great and different way to experience Chicago. A cautionary note: there weren’t many great food options right at the kayaking location. If you plan on eating before or after save a little extra time. The restaurants are several blocks away, but definitely walkable.

Wow! I am not an expert in a canoe but what was so great about this is that you gather in a canoe at certain areas of the River and a fabulous story about Chicago is told. If you choose to do this, make sure Joel is your guide. He is the best story teller ever! His knowledge, memory and compassion for what he does come out whenever he speaks. There were 30 of us on this tour and he remembered all of our names after meeting us for the first time. The other guide was fabulous and kept us together. I wish I remembered his name but when I exited the kayak, he was so kind. Trust me, my body getting in and out of a kayak is a comedy act all in itself! Take this tour with Joel! I know I will be back again.
